Michael Maze - P&G
- Olympic campaign 'Thank You Mom & Dad'
Best activated sponsorship during the London 2012 Olympic Games
The world’s largest consumer company, Procter & Gamble, entered a sponsorship with the Danish table tennis player Michael Maze for the Olympic Games in London in 2012. Behind every sports person stands their parents. That is the message in the global P&G campaign 'Thank you mom and dad'. It is a message Michael Maze wants to share. Michael Maze explains what this sponsorship means to him:
"As an athlete I always work on improving every little detail. Often it is only a millimeter that determines your serve and other details in the game. I am therefore very happy with the cooperation with P&G, and it means than I have the opportunity to bring my mom to the Olympic Games. My mom has given me the necessary space in order to live my dream. For that I owe her my eternal gratitude – without her I would not be the table tennis player I am today"
- Michael Maze
He has been one of the best players in the world during the last 15 years. Among his titles are the gold medal at the European Championships in 2009 and a bronze medal at the Olympic Games in 2004.
Of all the campaigns during the Olympic Games in London 2012 P&G’s campaign was the big winner. P&G had three commercials in the top 10 of the best Olympic Games commercials (respectively on a 1st, 6th and 8th place). The P&G sponsorship was elected as the best activated sponsorship during the London 2012 Olympic Games.
