Flemming Povlsen

Flemming Povlsen is a former Danish football player. He was a part of the famous national team from 1992 that sensationally won the European Championships. Through out his career on the national team he played 62 matches and scored 21 goals.

Flemming Povlsen started his career in Viby IF before he moved to AGF in 1984. He moved abroad in 1986 where he signed with the Spanish club Castilla CF. He only played for the team until 1987 before he then moved to the German club FC Köln.

His stay at FC Köln was a success and he only played two seasons before moving on to PSV Eindhoven. He won the Dutch cup and finished second in the League.

After his stay in PSV Eindhoven he moved back to Germany and played for Dortmund. Flemming Povlsen experienced his greatest success while at Dortmund, and quickly became a fan favourite. After five years in Dortmund a knee injury forced him to retire as a football player in 1995.
